WHY SHOULD WE WALK ACCORDING TO P.S CASTRENCE?

(May 17, 2016)

WHY SHOULD WE WALK ACCORDING TO P.S CASTRENCE?

Walking keeps the form fit. It obviates bay windows, inelegant in men, unsightly in women. Walking puts into play painlessly and unconsciously, important body muscles. The leg muscles,obviously, are the ones mostly affected. But when the legs move they pull at the abdominal muscles, giving them the needed exercise which prevents their getting flabby and the abdomen’s becoming big and pendulous. The static muscles of the back, especially those around the spine, are put into movement, too, and this is essential in the maintenance of good posture. The arms also swing into motion as a natural accompaniment of walking.
There are all manners of walking. The ambling walking of the absorbed lovers, while satisfactory from the point of views of giving opportunity for sentimental discourse, is not so from the point of view of exercise. From the latter viewpoint, a brisk morning walk is the thing. You need not even plan it as a formal program. It is a relatively simple thing to walk to the office, or if that is too much because where you work is quite distant from your home, walk part of the way. Either choice you take, however, makes it worthwhile by deriving from it the exercise you need. Wallk vigorously and enthusiastically. You can almost actually feel the blood circulating in your body with a briskness equal to the vim and zest you put into your walking.

CAN BE LOVE MEASURED?

(May 17, 2016)

CAN BE LOVE MEASURED?

Yes, but only by the one with love. example: if i love you, then i can measure my love for you but you can not measure my love for you as you know not what is within my mind. somethings can not be communicated in the traditional sense, they can only be known. love is one of them. another way to measure love is to think about how much one loves them self, though not in an egotistical way.

HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE LOVED?

(May 17, 2016)

How do you know that you are in loved?

If this special person is the first thing on your mind when you wake up, the last person on your mind when you go to sleep, and the person you think about the most throughout the day, you’ve probably wondered if you’re in love. You might sporadically call or text them during the day to ask them how they’re doing or what they’re doing later just to keep the conversation flowing. Your mind and your heart may be in the wonderful first stage of being in love.

Poster depicting the message of the poem "To A Lost One"

To A Lost One
Angela Manalang-Gloria
I shall haunt you, O my lost one, as the twilight
Haunts a grieving bamboo trail,
And your dreams will linger strangely with the music
Of a phantom lover’s tale
You shall not forget, for I am past forgetting
I shall come to you again
With the starlight, and the scent of wild champakas,
And the melody of rain.
You shall not forget. Dusk will peer into your
Window, tragic-eyed and still,
And unbidden startle you into remembrance
With its hand upon the sill.

MESSAGE OF THE POEM:
They say there is a reason, they say that time will heal. But neither time nor reason will change. The way we feel for no one know the heartache. That lies behind our smiles. No one knows how many times we have broken down and cried. We want to tell you something. So there there wont be any doubt. You're so wonderful to think of but so hard to be without.

LIKE THE MOLAVE
BY: Rafael Zulueta da Costa

Not yet, Rizal, not yet. Sleep not in peace;There are a thousand waters to be spanned;There are a thousand mountains to be crossed;There are a thousand cross to be borne.Our shoulders are not strong; our sinews areGrown flaccid with dependence, smug with ease
Under another‘s wing. Rest not in peace;
 Not yet, Rizal, not yet. The land has needOf young blood
 –
 and, what younger than your own,Forever spilled in the great name of freedom.Forever oblate on the altar ofThe free? Not you alone, Rizal. O souls And spirits of the martyred brave - arise! Arise and scour the land! Shed once againYour willing blood! Infuse the vibrant redInto our thin anemic veins; untilWe pick up your Promethean tools and strong,Out of the depthless matrix of your faithIn us, and on the silent cliffs of freedom,We carve, for all time your marmoreal dream!Until our people, seeing, are becomeLike the Molave, firm, resilient, staunchRising on the hillside, unafraid,Strong in its own fiber; yes, like the Molave!

REACTION:

 Like The Molave is one regarding how the people of the Philippines must work to make the nation stronger. The poem states that a region of the Philippines - Rizal - cannot yet rest, as there is still much work to be done to make the area successful. At the beginning of the poem, the poet outlines how the Philippines is dependent on other nations, and must work towards becoming independent in the future in order to support its citizens. Like The Molave also highlights the importance of the younger generation, and how they must fight for their country and improve the Filipino way of living. The poet believes this will grant the nation freedom. Like The Molave also talks about heroes and how they inspire regular Filipinos to be great themselves and join them on the quest to make the Philippines a more prosperous place. The poem states that whilst many Filipinos are achieving great things for their country, there is still much more to be done and more residents must contribute to the efforts. In short, Like The Molave is about inspiring the Filipino nation to improve their country and make it self-sufficient.

KAMAY NG BIRHEN

Mapuputing kamay, malasutla’t lambot,
kung hinahawi mo itong aking buhok,
ang lahat ng aking dalita sa loob
ay nalilimot ko nang lubos na lubos.
At parang bulaklak na nangakabuka
ang iyong daliring talulot ng ganda,
kung nasasalat ko, O butihing sinta,
parang ang bulaklak kahalikan ko na.
Kamay na mabait, may bulak sa lambot,
may puyo sa gitna paglikom sa loob;
magagandang kamay na parang may gamot,
isang daang sugat nabura sa haplos.
Parang mga ibong maputi’t mabait
na nakakatulog sa tapat ng dibdib;
ito’y bumubuka sa isa kong halik
at sa aking pisngi ay napakatamis.
Ang sabi sa k’wento, ang kamay ng birhen
ay napababait ang kahit salarin;
ako ay masama, nang ikaw’y giliwin,
ay nagpakabait nang iyong haplusin.

Reaction:
"Virgin's Hands," is a beautiful touching Tagalog poem by Jose Corazon de Jesus about how his love for a woman changed him for the better. It has been said that the hands of a virgin have the power to transform even hardered criminals into good men.

MY FUTURE

(May 11, 2016)

It's unbelievable how each year, since the beginning of high school, my perfectly laid plans for myself have unavoidably deteriorated. When I entered my freshman year, I had aspirations of business women (something I had wanted to be since I was a child); Now, here I am my college life without any idea of what I want to do. Now seems to be the time to start taking life seriously and making responsible, educated choices. Now I come to a crossroad in my life where I choose what to do with my future, choose what will make me happy.
My plans for the future is having a great job with a loving family who's willing to support me in my good and bad times.. But now I realize that there are so many other steps I need to take in order to achieve these so-called goals. This includes graduating from high school and college, finding that special someone, and finding that perfect job. I have begun to realize that I have yet to begin my life; everything up until now has been practice, as if I have been in a cage and it is only now that I am beginning to break free and do things for myself. I must work really hard to give my kids a better future so it will be easier for them to concentrate more in school, because without education there's really no future for anyone. . I want to be satisfied with my decisions, to be able to accept and forgive, and most of all to be able to live up to the expectations I have for myself. . I will only accomplish my goal in being happy when I am able to live my life for myself and still able to provide love and support to others.
